Current conditions of the prison: 

1. Investigation and Classification: Investigation and classification is basic to the execution of a penalty. Crime is like a disease and the prison has the healing function. When an inmate is admitted into a prison, the prison, like a hospital establishing case history, needs to investigate, directly or indirectly, the age, temperament, education, occupational skills, health state, religious belief, story of the offense, and the complex cause of the defense. At the same time, it needs to test and analyze the inmate’s individuality and characteristics in order to plan corrective measures for inmate. 

2. Rehabilitation and Educational: Yunlin Second Prison actively uses rehabilitation and educational methods to inspire prisoners' consciousness and good virtues, to cultivate their law-abiding spirit, to change their temperament, and to rebuild their personality. This is accomplished in the following ways ：

• Group Teaching.
• Classified Teaching-according to prisoner’s criminal intentions.
• Individual Teaching-interviews depending on individual’s needs.
• Religious Teaching-inviting different kinds of religious groups to guide their spiritual growth.

3. Personal Hygiene and Medical Treatment: Disease Prevention and Cure as well as Public health office cooperating with us to do this job regularly makes AIDS blood screen, oral cavity screen, X-ray, syphilis, and biochemical examination in order to ensure inmate's health. In addition, we have doctors including internal medicine, surgery, dental treatment exclusively engaged to offer daily outpatient service. 

4. Skill training operations: We organize skill training for inmates and provide diverse skill training courses. We promote self-run businesses to help the inmates put the skills they obtained into practice. When they are discharged, they can get decent jobs and stand on their own feet. Thus, they can live the life of a good national. 

5. Control management: We review the control and rehabilitation measures, and update the security facilities. We uphold the principle of insisting on liberal caregiving but demanding strict discipline. We care about the inmates’ feedback, so suggestion boxes have been installed. We summon inmates for work and life review meetings, dual-way communication is the foundation of discipline and communication. 

6. General affairs: We facilitate the intake and discharge of inmates. We also operate in the life and provision affairs according to the regulations in order to ensure that the inmates’ basic needs are sufficient for daily life. We also operate the tender, purchase and maintenance businesses. With the principles of promptness, fairness and openness, we administer rules according to the law.
