Yunlin Second Prison actively uses rehabilitation and educational methods to inspire prisoners' consciousness and good virtues, to cultivate their law-abiding spirit, to change their temperament, and to rebuild their personality. This is accomplished in the following ways ：

1. Group Teaching –entire assembly teaching .
2. Classified Teaching-according to prisoner’s criminal intentions .
3. Individual Teaching-interviews depending on individual’s needs .
4. Religious Teaching-inviting different kinds of religious groups to guide their

     spiritual growth , e.g. priest , clergyman , Buddhist monk or devotee .

Instruction is the most important work for those who serve a sentence. The Yunlin Second Prison surely gives first place to it. We fulfill it with the help of literary and recreational activities which include individual, group, classified and religious instruction. However, the offenders’ level of education must be taken into consideration. Every day we have honorary teachers and volunteers from social resources to take part in the task-work.

Furthermore, each month we regularly have activities of literature and recreation inclusive of Chinese chess, calligraphy, painting and sports for physical and mental relaxation. For leisure and propaganda of instruction, we afford the offenders full facilities Each workshop has a color cable TV and Kala-Ok.

Once in a while we also hold a book exhibition to cultivate reading atmosphere, which leads to establishing a reading club. A parent and children reunion is held especially on meaningful holidays, such as Mid-Autumn Festival and Chinese New Year. At regular intervals, there are telephone conversations held by the prison with their families.
